Sounds amazing. I can't believe you hike in the whole way with the Hero on your shoulder. That's gotta be painful.
The cockpit rim is pretty friendly. I also duct tape a standard hip pad shim on to spread soften it. I also switch shoulders every five minutes, seems to work like a charm.
